Juan Gonzales was honored at El Tecolote’s Golden Legacy Gala on Aug. 26 in San Francisco, which celebrated five decades of bilingual journalism in service of the Bay Area’s Latinx community.

At the gala, SF State Journalism chair Jesse Garnier presented Juan with a proclamation recognizing El Tecolote for 53 years of serving the Spanish-speaking bilingual community of the Mission District and beyond.
