Overview
Los Angeles Times 2025-26 Photography Fellow Juliana Yamada will speak about the Times fellowship and her year-long KQED documentary project on the closing of Hayward’s J-Sei Home on Tuesday, March 18 at 12:30 p.m. in Humanities 307. Students are invited to bring a lunch and join us.
Juliana grew up in Torrance and earned her bachelor’s degree in photojournalism from San Francisco State University in 2023.
She has held photo internships at the San Francisco Chronicle, KQED and the San Francisco Standard and has worked with the Associated Press, CalMatters and more. In 2024, she received grant support from Women Photograph for a yearlong photo essay.
Journalism students attending the presentation will receive a journalism event credit.
