Tenure-Track Position: Photojournalism effective Fall 2015
Rank: Assistant Professor

Required Qualifications: M.F.A, M.J. or M.A. in a relevant discipline and significant professional photojournalism experience, a strong portfolio, evidence of leadership in the field of photojournalism, and evidence of excellent teaching.
Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, have skills in and the ability to teach, in addition to photojournalism courses, design, online journalism, multimedia production and/or social media.
Duties: Desirable candidates to join the award-winning photojournalism sequence will come with a track record of published high-quality scholarly or creative work and the ability to teach introductory photography courses and advanced photojournalism courses. Development of new courses welcomed. Teaching, scholarship and service to the university community, which includes actively engaging in the life of the Journalism Department; serving on department, college and university committees is also required. The University provides support of both research and teaching projects. We value collaborative work among other departments and the journalism profession. A firm commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds is expected.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in journalism, mass communication, or a related discipline at time of hiring with a strong record of scholarly publication, professional journalism experience and the ability to teach a course in the social impact of journalism.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to teach across the undergraduate journalism curriculum, including both skills-based and theory courses and the potential to generate external funding.
Duties: Ability to teach some of the following: Reporting, Investigative Journalism, Magazine Writing, Public Journalism, News Media Law and Ethics, Feature Writing, Opinion Writing, Magazine Publication Lab.
