Journalism department to hold town hall meeting
By Wilson Gomez
The Journalism Department will host a town hall On Wednesday, Feb.26 at 12:30 p.m. in the Golden Gate Xpress newsroom (HUM 308) to discuss some changes in the department and get student feedback.
The Town Hall will begin with presentations from various professors who will discuss changes to the curriculum that went into effect for students who entered the department in Fall 2019. After the presentations, the floor will be open to students who can ask any questions they may have. All journalism majors, minors and prospective students are welcome to attend.
“One of the things I want to do with the meeting is to foster a sense of community among the journalism students,” said Rachele Kanigel, chair of the Journalism Department. “I think it’s really important to have an open dialogue between the faculty and the students. I hope this is something we can do on a regular basis moving forward.”
The town hall will count toward the department’s events requirement.
