Douglas McGray is co-creator and editor in chief of Pop-Up Magazine, the popular touring "live magazine," which produces multimedia performances featuring acclaimed writers, photographers, documentary filmmakers, radio and podcast producers, and musicians. In October 2014, he helped launch The California Sunday Magazine, online at californiasunday.com and in print -- delivered with Sunday editions of the Los Angeles Times and the San Francisco Chronicle or by mail to subscribers. The magazine covers California, the West, Asia, and Latin America for a national audience. It has been a finalist for 10 National Magazine Awards, including General Excellence and Magazine of the Year, and a winner three times. In 2018 the Society of Publication Designers named California Sunday the Magazine of the Year.
