Michael Moss Wins Pulitzer and Journalism Department Honor

Congratulations to Michael Moss, investigative reporter with the New York Times, who won the Pulitzer Prize for explanatory journalism. Michael wrote a series of stories on toxic hamburger and how food safety measures have failed to prevent the consumption of contaminated beef. The Journalism Department will honor Michael with the Journalism Alumnus of the Year award at the Journalism Graduation Ceremony on May 23. We will also recognize him at the Alumni Reception May 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the Lush Life Gallery at the San Francisco Jazz Heritage Center , 1320 Fillmore St. We hope you can join us in the celebration. Admission is $10. Michael was a Pulitzer finalist in 2006 for a series he wrote about the lack of protective armor for soldiers in Iraq. He has worked with the Wall Street Journal, Newsday The Atlanta Constitution-Journal, the Daily Sentinel in Grand Junction, Colo. and the High Country News in Lander, Wyo.
