Guest Speaker: Alex Fong, deputy creative director for projects, San Francisco Chronicle

Alex Fong will be a guest speaker in the JOUR 330 Editing class to discuss his approach to print and digital news design. His talk will be followed by a Q&A. Students and faculty from other journalism courses are invited to attend.

Prior to joining the Chronicle’s staff, Fong designed and art directed all sections, illustrations and infographics at China Daily in Beijing. Before that, he co-led the redesign and the new pagination system/CMS launch team for some 80 dailies operated by Digital First Media. He also served as deputy design director for Bay Area News Group and a designer for the Las Vegas Sun.
