Kale Williams and The Loneliest Polar Bear

Event Date: Tuesday, April 20 - 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm
Location: Virtual (Via Zoom)
Kale Williams

Kale Williams is a reporter at The Oregonian/OregonLive, where he covers science and the environment, and the author of The Loneliest Polar Bear. The book offers a heartbreaking and ultimately hopeful story of an abandoned polar bear cub named Nora and the humans working tirelessly to save her and her species, whose uncertain future in the accelerating climate crisis is closely tied to our own. The book is based on this series of stories he published in 2017: https://projects.oregonlive.com/projectnora/1-3/.

The Loneliest Polar Bear

A native of the Bay Area, he previously reported for the San Francisco Chronicle and graduated from the Journalism Department at San Francisco State University in 2013. He served as editor-in-chief of Golden Gate Xpress from May 2012-May 2013.
