National Geographic Photo Editors to Speak March 16 at Journalism Department Event

Join us on Tuesday, March 16 for a lunchtime presentation by National Geographic photo editors Maura Friedman and Samantha Clark.

Samantha Clark is a photo editor and producer based in Washington, DC. She’s currently a photo editor at National Geographic, where she commissions and curates photography for both the magazine and website. She works mostly on stories about science, the environment and climate change. Before coming to National Geographic she worked as a producer, photo editor and writer for National Public Radio, KQED and KAZU. She was also a staff writer at the Santa Cruz Sentinel, covering the environment and agriculture.

Maura Friedman is a visual journalist and photo editor from Atlanta based in Washington D.C. She worked as the managing photo editor at The Urban Institute and a multimedia reporter at the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Currently, she curates and commissions photography and produces travel stories for online and print. She has freelanced for The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Whole Foods, YouTube and others.
