Journalism of the Future: A panel discussion featuring reporters from The Washington Post, KQED, SFSU and the Disability & Media Alliance Project

Event Date: Tuesday, February 25 - 12:15 pm to 2:00 pm
Location: LIB 121

The Journalism Department collaborated with The Library and Theater Department to host a panel all about the future of journalism. We'll be talking about how newsrooms use new technology. How journalists use tech to improve accessibility. And, most important, how to get "tech jobs" in journalism. Our panelists are:

Reed Albergotti, a technology reporter for The Washington Post. His recent report used machine learning to uncover predatory sexual behavior on apps approved in the Apple App Store.

Ericka Cruz Guevarra, a producer for The Bay podcast at KQED. She's an SFSU Journalism alum!

Josh Davis, assistant professor, Journalism Department. Josh produced video documentaries for Vice News and The New York Times.

Emily Smith Beitiks, Associate Director, Paul K. Longmore Institute on Disability.

Lawrence Carter-Long, leads the Disability & Media Alliance Project at the Disability Rights Education & Defense Fund.

Event Moderator: Elizabeth Bradley Hunter, Fabula(b) Theatre + New Media Lab

There's a catered reception at the end where students and guests can mingle with our panelists.
