Harriet Chiang is an award-winning veteran journalist who has done both newspaper and broadcast reporting and commentary. For many years, she was the legal affairs writer for the San Francisco Chronicle, covering the O.J. Simpson murder trial, sexual harassment in the workplace and death penalty appeals, among many other high-profile cases. She was the beat reporter on the California Supreme Court and also covered the U.S. Supreme Court. In addition to extensive speaking appearances, she has taught journalism classes at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism, as well as at San Francisco State for many years. More recently, she has been a communications and marketing writer and editor for major law firms. She has a law degree from UC’s Hastings College of the Law and an undergraduate degree from Berkeley.
